All first-time-in-college students are encouraged to begin the enrollment process early in order to complete all admissions, testing, and registration requirements by the posted deadlines. This Statewide accepted Process and Production Technology programs of study meets the industry’s needs to increase the availability of process technicians in the oil and gas industry that is expanding in south Texas. This entry -level certificate allows students to gain employment while continuing through the program.

The program includes advanced topics in auditing, financial accounting and reporting, regulation/taxation, as well as financial and operational management. Many students who plan to transfer to a university are advised to fulfill the lower-division requirements for the university. With appropriate planning, your Alamo Colleges District team can help make the transfer experience a seamless process. It is the responsibility of all students to ensure that they take courses at the Alamo Colleges District that will be accepted by the senior institutions they wish to attend. A student who is unable to successfully complete this course within two attempts, including dropping the course with a grade of “W,” or by taking an equivalent course at another institution, will be required to change his, her or their major outside of business. Upon the second failed attempt students will be changed from Business Studies to undeclared (UND) and will not be eligible for a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) or a Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree.

It is highly recommended that students meet with their assigned advisor to review all graduation and transfer requirements listed in the Transfer Advising Guide. Students are encouraged to consult with an academic advisor about courses and other educational concerns if they plan to pursue a two-year degree program, transfer to another college or university, or simply take a few selected courses. In addition to course and degree requirements, policies and procedures are subject to change; stay informed by meeting with an academic advisor regularly. The certificate is designed for college-educated workers who opt for a career change to accounting and need additional credit hours.

This scholarship is valued up to $6,000 (1,500 each semester) for up to four consecutive semesters (not including summers) if renewal eligibility is maintained. The value is awarded on a competitive basis, while funding is still available. This Transfer Advising Guide provides 63 college-level hours, of which 60 will transfer and apply as EDUC 1300 will transfer, but will NOT be applicable towards the UTSA business baccalaureate degree in Accounting. The Accounting Technology AAS degree provides skills necessary for entry-level and mid-level bookkeeping positions. Emphasis is on accounting, tax, spreadsheet development and industry standard accounting system software courses as well as enhanced computer skills, communication skills, and professionalism.

Accounting or Finance – AA to BBA – Texas A&M University – San Antonio (TAMUSA) 2020-2021 ♦

The college does not guarantee employment to any student in the program. The Accounting Computer Applications Marketable Skills Award is a one-year program designed to develop fundamental skills, knowledge, attitudes and experience necessary for men and women to function in entry-level bookkeeping positions. Emphasis is on basic accounting, spreadsheet development and industry standard accounting system software. The Accounting Technician Level 1 Certificate provides skills necessary for men and women to function in entry-level bookkeeping positions. The Business Field of Study Curriculum is for students who are seeking a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), a Bachelor of Arts (BA), or a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with a major in business, including all business specializations. In ACT Program: Accounting Technology, A A.S. San Antonio College Acalog ACMS Programs, once mathematics competency has been proven by scoring a minimum of 76 on the Math Accuplacer, students may substitute a natural science course for the mathematics. Deadline to pay and register for classes is Sunday, August 19 at 1 p.m.
